Today we’re going to take a look at three small cosmetic mods that work very nicely together to improve your player character in a cosmetic way. Though they are too small for me to have anything to talk about for a whole article, together they are an interesting little pack of cosmetic mods. Let’s take a look at Tails, Simply Sit, and Cosmetic Armor.
Tails is a mod that adds… well… tails! There’s a interface that you access through the pause menu where you can add your tail and customize the shape and colors of it. Some of the “tails” also have ears and wings, expanding the mod outside of the boundaries set by its name. The tails waggle around, which is a nice touch, and the ability to customize the color lets you align it with your skin, making it a fantastic cosmetic mod.
Moving on there’s Simply Sit which lets you sit on any block within the boundaries of logic (no lava). It’s a nice little immersion mod that will let you relax by a lake or have a rest in a cave. The name really says it all.
Finally, there’s Cosmetic Armor, a mod that adds a new set of armor slots to your inventory where you equip a set of armor for looks only. This system works similarly to that of transmutation in MMO games, except it is not permanent. For those that aren’t familiar with that system, it basically allows you to have the stats of one piece of armor and the looks of another. It even adds a “skin” armor set which makes it appear as if you have no armor. So, for example, you can have diamond armor equipped normally and skin armor in the cosmetic slots, resulting in you looking “naked” but having the protection of diamond armor.
It’s a really neat addition that I feel is something missing in the vanilla game, though I understand the balance issues it would cause if it was added, which are probably the reason why it wasn’t.
That’s all for today! Three cosmetic mods for three simple tweaks to your game. These will probably work best online (server has to support them, though), but players looking for immersion might find them interesting as well. You can get them here:
