Have you ever fought the Ender Dragon and noticed how bare and boring the End was? If you have, I’ve got just the mod for you. Modder chylex is turning the End into a fully fledged dimension instead of a glorified boss fight. With new mobs, biomes, items and blocks, it’s an interesting one. Let’s take a look.
The mod does focus on exploration a lot so through this article I hope to give you just enough info to get you started, but not enough to spoil your experience. Let’s start with world generation.
The mod revamps how the End generates, adding additional islands off the coast of the main one where the Ender dragon is. There are several types of islands, some simpler than others. Ender blobs are just what the name suggests – blobs of ender rock with some random stuff on them like flowers, ores or mini caves.
There are also biome islands with special End biomes that provide a unique aesthetic and challenge. Finally there are Dungeon Towers that provide a stronghold-like challenge for the player.
Next up are the mobs. Besides the regular endermen and the Ender Dragon, the mod adds some new mobs. The Ender Eye is a mini-boss that guards Dungeon Towers. Fire golems roam the burning mountain biome and baby endermen along with infested bats spawn in the infested forest biome. Because they are biome specific, their abilites are in synergy with the biome, creating a unique challenge.
On the block front, the mod adds some new ores and crafting blocks that provide a way to upgrade your arsenal. For a lot of people rising through tiers and finding out what new gear does is the core enjoyment in a mod, and there’s plenty of that in this mod. It also adds some cool new music in the End to accompany your adventures.
The mod is very focused on the End and it does its job well – it introduces new gameplay elements that improve the game and add more challenges to overcome in a dimension designed to be the final challenge. You can get it here:
