Lycanite’s Mobs – Plains, Jungle and Swamp

lycanites-mobs-thumb1

We guide you through the great Lycanite’s Mobs mod that adds biome-specific monsters to the game with fantastic textures and animation. In this part we take a look at the mobs of the plains, jungles and swamps…

lycanites-mobs-kobold

Kobolds are tiny hostile rodents that spawn in plains and attempt to steal any items you drop (similar to how goats eat stuff in Mo’ Creatures). They are cowards, so they will run away with your stolen items unless you’re at low health, when they’ll attack you at melee range. They drop all kinds of materials, mostly ores.

lycanites-mobs-ventoraptor

Ventoraptors are hostile bird-like creatures that spawn in packs in the plains biome. They are very fast and can suddenly leap across distances. Ventoraptors are hostile towards everything, but can be tamed using cooked meat and mounted if a saddle is put on it after taming.

lycanites-mobs-ent

Ents are hostile forest-faring creatures and the only forest based mob Lycanite’s Mobs adds. They will defend their home against any intruders with a strong melee attack that can heal them, making them tougher. Use axes or fire (or both!) to take them down faster.

lycanites-mobs-geken

A Geken is a hostile mob that spawns in the jungle. Their signature ability is mobility – they can leap very far very quickly, making them dangerous if you’re not careful.

lycanites-mobs-uvaraptor

Uvaraptors are hostile mobs that spawn in groups, in the jungle. Their colorful wings coupled with the fact that they hunt in groups make them very visible, but still dangerous due to their ability to jump high and attack from above.

lycanites-mobs-ghoulzombie

Ghoul Zombies are the most common swamp mob. They are a lot like regular zombies, except their bite is venomous and they move faster. They have less health, but otherwise act like zombies.

lycanites-mobs-dweller

Dwellers are hostile mobs that swim in the shallow waters of swamp biomes. They require water to survive, and as such cannot be out of water for long (rain is fine), but don’t count on that keeping you safe – they can and will go out of the water to catch their prey.

lycanites-mobs-ettin

Ettins are hostile mobs that spawn in swamps. These two-headed giants come equipped with giant maces that will annihilate any blocks around and deal tons of damage. They have a lot of health so be careful taking one on.

lycanites-mobs-lurker

Lurkers are one of the most dangerous swamp mobs around. They have a venomous attack that blinds and damages the victim and are hard to hit because they teleport around like Endermen. Contrary to all logic, this creepy creature can be tamed using fermented spider eyes and cooked meat.

lycanites-mobs-eyewig

The Eyewig is another dangerous poison based type of mob that inhabits the swamp biome. This poison, like the lurkers, causes blindness and damage. Eyewigs only attack in the darkness and can be tamed using poison glands, then saddled and mounted.

lycanites-mobs-aspid

Aspids are large, dinosaur-like swamp mobs. They also utilize poison in their attacks, but instead of via attack, they spread the poison via poisonous clouds they leave behind them.

lycanites-mobs-eyewig

Remobra are yet another type of poisonous swamp mob. These flying rodents don’t do much damage and don’t have a lot of health, but they can be tough to deal with if a large group attacks you all at once.
