Lycanite’s Mobs – Desert and Nether

lycanites-mobs-thumb2

We guide you through the great Lycanite’s Mobs mod that adds biome-specific monsters to the game with fantastic textures and animation. In this part we take a look at the mobs of the desert biome and the scary Nether…

lycanites-mobs-cryptzombie

Crypt Zombies are desert version of the regular zombie. Their advantage is that they don’t burn in the daylight. Like regular zombies they are hostile melee mobs and will break down doors and convert villagers when possible.

lycanites-mobs-crusk

Crusks are sandworms – hostile mobs that dig around in the desert sand and prey on the surface-dwellers. They’re very strong but slow. Baby crusks are not hostile and can be tamed using a gold ingot.

lycanites-mobs-clink

Clinks are strange metallic humanoid monsters that spawn in the desert. They are hostile and attack at range dealing lots of damage. Exercise caution fighting them.

lycanites-mobs-joust

Jousts are a species of desert based mobs. Regular jousts (orange) are not aggressive but they follow a leader (red) that is, so you can get attacked by a group if you aren’t careful.

lycanites-mobs-manticore

Manticores are the bats of the desert, but much more dangerous. They hunt in groups and deal a significant amount of damage. Combine that with their flying ability and you’ve got yourself a dangerous enemy.

lycanites-mobs-erepede

Erepedes are desert based passive mobs. They will defend themselves when attacked and are naturally opposed to the jousts. They can be tamed using gold nuggets and ridden after saddling.

lycanites-mobs-gorgomite

Gorgomites are the pests of the desert. They are weak on their own but are always in groups making them pesky to deal with.

lycanites-mobs-belph

Belphs are one of the basic hostile Nether mobs. They spawn in groups, but are weak. Their ranged fireball attack doesn’t do a lot of damage, but can be dangerous if you’re outnumbered.

lycanites-mobs-nethersoul

Nether Souls are suicidial flying hostile Nether mobs. They just charge at you and try to explode, sort of like flying Nether creepers.

lycanites-mobs-behemoth

Behemoths are big hostile Nether mobs. They are a lot like belphs, except stronger and their ranged attack uses green fire which is more dangerous.

lycanites-mobs-cacodemon

Cacodemons are big demonic flying hostile Nether creatures. They are quite strong and fire lighting which is unusual for a Nether mob. Pick a fight only if you’re well prepared.

lycanites-mobs-trite

Trites are tiny spider-like hostile Nether mobs. They are pests more than a real danger, but can distract you from bigger threats and should therefore be dealt with quickly.

lycanites-mobs-asmodi

Asmodi are big spider-like mechanical hostile Nether mobs (what a mouthful). They boss around trites and attack at range with rapidly fired green projectiles that can do a lot of damage if you’re not properly armored. Upon death trites will appear around its corpse.

lycanites-mobs-pinky

Pinkies are demonic hostile Nether mobs. Contrary to all logic, baby Pinkies can be tamed with hellfire charges that drop from other Nether mobs. They can then be saddled and ridden as possibly the most metal mount of all time.
