Presence Footsteps – An overly complicated footstep sound enhancement mod

Have you ever walked around your Minecraft world and thought to yourself: Man, I wish the footstep sounds were generated by a very complicated system that allows for maximum realism and diversity? Me neither, but once you install this mod, you’ll wonder how you ever lived without it.

Presence Footsteps by Hurricaaane, creator of the MAtmos mod I loved so much, is a mod that uses a very complex and sophisticated system that takes into account all kinds of variables to determine the best possible sound to play for your next footstep, and the one after, and the one after.

The mod has several sounds for each surface you could be walking on. It takes into account if you fell from a large height or if you’re on an edge. It even separately calculates sounds for each leg, allowing different sounds for each leg if you’re walking in between two surfaces.

It might sound simple after all the calculations are done and you get your sound, but it does a lot to enhance your Minecraft experience. Combine it with the MAtmos mod and you’ve got yourself a sound overhaul worthy of being in every mod setup.

Since this is such a sound based mod, pictures do it no justice. Luckily, this video does:
