Welcome to a new series here on McModder.net called Wombo Combo. Each time, I’ll be taking a look at a combination of mods that work together symbiotically to create an amazing experience.
In this edition, biomes and world generation have never been this beautiful – I take a look at Realistic World Gen Alpha, a mod that recently got support for Biomes O’ Plenty, creating a combo that truly amazes.
And when I say “amazes”, I mean it. The terrain that generates once you install these two mods and generate the world rivals some of the best handmade custom terrain I’ve seen. There are rolling hills and vast plains. High mountains and lakes – small and big – with rivers flowing through swamps and canyons and forests. It is truly a sight to behold. Which is why I’ve prepared 10 beautiful shots of the terrain. Take a look:
As you can see, Realistic World Gen Alpha uses the biomes from Biomes O’ Plenty to generate realistic terrain. It’s epic in scale and has great diversity while still having plenty of places to build. The biomes are large enough to seem big and important, yet small enough to not make travel a chore. The rivers aren’t just tiny long lakes, but actually flow from biome to biome. There are canyons and other terrain formations that you would expect to see in a diverse landscape. It is breathtaking.
And you can explore it yourself. Get the mods right here:
