Skins are great, but didn't we all sometimes wish that there were more customization options available for our characters? A character creation screen, mayhaps? Modder Noppes agrees and brings us his More Player Models 2 mod which allows you to change a great deal of wonderful things on your character model, even change it completely. Read on to find out more…
Let's start with the player model and its customization. Your basic skin will be applied, as usual, but you can customize a great deal of things. Here's a look at the interface:
As you can see, you can mess with the scale of each part of your body, and edit them by adding all kinds of stuff like mohawks for the head, tails on the legs and so forth. You can save your settings and load them, or load one of the default presets for male or female humans, elves, and dwarfs. The system is fairly robust and will allow you to do almost anything to the model of your character. The skin stays, though it can look ugly if you stretch it too much.
More Player Models 2 also adds some custom animations to the player model:
More animations(/sit, /dance, /wave, /sleep, /hug, /cry, /angry, /bow, /wag, /crawl)
But the player model, while the most customizable, is just one of the many models the mod offers. You can change your model to any kind of mob in the game, even the bosses!
You cannot customize these, but they do come with the default animation. As you can see in the thumbnail at the top of the article, the golem running animation looks hilarious. More Player Models 2 also adds a number of smaller, simple features that enhance gameplay. Things like the tool you last equipped showing on your back and chat bubbles above your head are neat and add to the charm of the mod.
From a tiny silverfish to the giant Ender Dragon, you can be whatever you want to be.
In conclusion, I enjoyed this mod very much. While it will have to fight the Animated Player mod for my love when it comes to the default player model, when it comes to just playing as a creep, this mod is the way to go. You can get it here:
